Volume
The cup is the US cup, 240 ml. The gallon is the US gallon, not the imperial gallon.
How it works
1 litre = 1000 ml = 0.001 m³. A US fluid ounce is 29.5735 ml. A US gallon is 3.785411784 litres.
Volume is not mass. Flour and sugar need the cooking page, which states a density.
