Weight
The base is the kilogram. The arroba here is 15 kg, the Brazilian livestock measure.
How it works
The avoirdupois pound is 0.45359237 kg. The ounce is 1/16 of that pound. The tonne is the metric tonne, 1000 kg.
Kitchen scales say weight and mean mass. This page converts mass.
Questions
Is an arroba always 15 kg?
In current Brazilian cattle trade, yes. Older measures differ. The page states 15 kg.
Where is the fluid ounce?
On the volume page. It is not a mass.
What about carats?
Left out. A gem carat is 0.2 g and is easy to confuse with gold purity.
